The Catholic Church is not opposed to water and alkali systems. Some Catholics have spoken out about what happens to the body with alkaline hydrolysis. These same people seem to forget that water and alkaline is best for all considered compared to either cremation or burial. I manufacturer such a system, www.CycledLife.com.

I would be glad to e-mail anyone interested a PDF of an ethical look at water and alkali, written by Sr. Renée Mirkes, O.S.F., Ph.D., director of the Center for NaProEthics, the
ethics division of the Pope Paul VI Institute, in Omaha, Nebraska.

Personally, I find both cremation and burial, given the potential harm each poses to the living to be morally wrong. This has not always been the case. See why these options should be no longer seriously considered by those who care about family and friends. You can read about my opinion on this topic at www.CycledLife.com.

I didn't factor in there may be a correlation between rising gas prices and electrical rates.

I live in Washington state. SnoCo PUD electrical rates are $.08/kWh - $.085/kWh. It sounds like Plug-ins might consume about .2 kWh/mile.
($.085/kWh) * (.2 kWh/mile) = $.017/mile
I'm paying about $2.50/gallon for gas
For that same $2.50 $.017/mile would get me 147 miles
              $3.00 $.017/mile would get me 176 miles
              $3.50 $.017/mile would get me 205 miles
              $4.00 $.017/mile would get me 235 miles
This is assuming you never use gas in it.
I further hope gas never reaches $4.00/gallon in the forseeable future.
